Morpeth signing event

Jenny travelled to Northumberland by train on Saturday 30th March, for another interview which was held at Helen’s home in Morpeth with the Northern Echo newspaper.

We then both attended a book signing event in Morpeth, Helen’s hometown. This was again a very successful afternoon.

We were both struck by how many people wanted to talk to us about their own personal stories. Our story does indeed seem to have struck a chord with people who are dealing with similar issues.

This is one of the main reasons we wanted to write our book. We wanted to share our story and to help provide inspiration to those going through, and dealing with their own personal stories.

Our hearts go out to those of you suffering distress, our advice will always be, don’t give up!

Ghostwriter signing event

Our Ghostwriter, Jacquie Buttriss held a signing event in her local bookshop on Thursday. She also conducted a question and answer session and had a very good response from all who attended. She signed and sold many books and had a throughly successful evening.
Well done Jacquie!

Best seller for the second week!

We were notified by our publisher Pan Macmillan that we have achieved best seller status for the second week since publication! We were very excited to hear that we are now number three in the Sunday Times best selling general paperbacks category!

Another busy and successful week

We have been extremely busy with a hectic programme of promotion interviews this week!

On Monday 25th March we took part in another telephone interview with Talk Radio Europe. Following this interview Helen travelled down to London (again) for another series of interviews.

Tuesday 26th of March we were interviewed at the BBC studios by Radio Ireland, closely followed by another with BBC Newcastle.
We were then very thankful to have a nice break and lunch with our publisher Ingrid Connell and Philippa Hardy of Pan Macmillan!
At 1pm we were back at the BBC studios for a live interview on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2. Jeremy was so nice and very interested in our story!

We then hopped on another train back to Jenny’s home in Tenterden, where we were interviewed and filmed by ITV Meridian.

ITV This Morning

Helen and Jenny travelled to London for an appearance on ITV This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on Thursday 21st. March! We had an 8 minute interview on the famous sofa. All members of the crew including Phillip and Holly were simply wonderful, so helpful and thrilled to hear our story. It was a very exciting day for us!
The link to the interview is available on our links section.

Thanks to all

We would like to thank all of those who have contacted us through this site to compliment us and comment so positively on our book ‘My Secret Sister’
There are so many wonderfully kind people out there who genuinely care about our story. In addition, many who are affected by the issues raised in our book, those who have been adopted or who are, as we did, searching for lost family.

If you are one of these, our advice is to never give up! It is hard, heartbreaking at times and very frustrating. However nothing can be as bad as not knowing who you are or where you came from. Remember, every child has a right to know.

My Secret Sister is published!

We are both proud to announce that our book, the result of over two years hard work has finally been published. AND to our delight the day BEFORE publication, we shot straight into the top 100 biographies at number 17! This changes from day to day but is a very good indication of the interest our book is receiving

The book hit the book shops yesterday and is freely available on all of the online booksellers sites.
It is also available on Amazon.com (USA)
